VIALIT and Asphalt a never-ending story.
The roots of VIALIT ASPHALT GmbH & Co. KG in Braunau date back to the foundation year 1928. At this time, there were several VIALIT companies on almost all continents. As the company name indicates (VIA, the Latin word for "road", and LIThos, the Greek word for "stone"), the company's focus has always been on road construction. VIALIT has mainly been involved in the development of road construction and maintenance methods using bitumen emulsions. As a pioneer of the Austrian asphalt industry, VIALIT has always been researching improved applications and manufacturing methods and has developed asphalt innovations in four dimensions up to now.
Quality pays.
After more than 80 years of intensive developments and investment in asphalt research, VIALIT has become one of the market leaders in Austria with convincing technical competence and quality orientation in the field of road maintenance. Owned by two Upper Austrian families of entrepreneurs, VIALIT is one of the largest employers (some 100 employees) in the region and one of the best-known expert companies in the Austrian asphalt industry with specific know how and great innovation spirit.
The road to Europe.
Thanks to permanent developments and research work, as well as revolutionary patent applications for RapsAsphalt and REaktivAsphalt, VIALIT was able to expand on the international markets in the past few years.
Back to the Future.
Tradition and Innovation. A long and eventful tradition is the basis for a successful future. Our long experience in the industry is the foundation for being a major player in the asphalt business in the future, too, and influencing the industry by permanent improvements and adaptations. The membership in numerous national and international boards and technical committees reflects the significant role VIALIT plays in European road construction:

VIALIT sends a delegate to the Austrian standardization committee as well as to the Austrian research society for traffic and road construction.
