Environmental protection has top priority in all developments in the company's own high-tech lab. Replacing environmentally hazardous and harmful solvents by harmless and environmentally compatible emulsion products and re-growing raw materials is the most important objective of all of the company's research strategies.
- With the introduction of RapsAsphalt it has become possible for the first time to replace bitumen portions by rape oil, i.e. a re-growing raw material, for surface treatments in road construction.
- The development of the 4th asphalt dimension REaktivAsphalt is a revolution in the asphalt business, as VIALIT presents an absolute world novelty with this innovation.
The ongoing optimization and adaptation of the whole range of products to the current quality requirements by standardization, quality assurance and the market make high demands on our quality management and development departments. The adaptation of our wide range of services to the installation conditions of the domestic and foreign partner companies is another important task. By designing new test methods for bitumen, bitumen emulsions and asphalt, the VIALIT innovation and test laboratory has become well-known internationally.
Following the motto 1+1=3, other interesting innovations were developed in different cooperations with companies from other industries, e.g. sealing systems, heat and impact sound insulation or sheeting seals. New and more economic working methods were developed for technology partners from other industries, e.g. sewer manhole repair companies, building sealing companies, damp-proofing companies, etc.
Further results of our research work include new and environmentally compatible products and methods for chemical, oil, and fuel-resistant asphalt coating and for decorative, colored design of asphalt surfaces.
Patents & promotion
Several patents such as for a modern, low-cost measuring instrument for quick and reliable measurement of bonding agent characteristics, document our successful development activities. VIALIT patents set new standards for construction methods, too, e.g. to ensure the layer bond in asphalt road construction, in building sealing and damp-proofing as well as in road maintenance in general.
Research support institutions such as the FFF or STRASSENFORSCHUNG and regional development centers such as C.A.R.M.E.N in Bavaria continuously support current VIALIT research projects. This proves a high degree of trust in the performance of an innovative company.
